I was attracted to TS for a couple of reasons, but it was one to the two that I narrowed in on, and I thought I'd give it a go. With the limitations around futures spreads on the platform I currently use, I'd been looking for something better. However, due to some good fortune, I've done okay over the last couple of years. I admit that I don't have substantial trading accounts. And you guessed it, "the account was still under construction, and I needed to give it 'one to two' business days." Wow.
Early this week, I shoot a note to the same Account Manager asking about the account. I provide the info, now getting excited that I might see some movement around my account. Fast forward two weeks (lost count on the business days) I finally get a message from an Account Manager about some additional info. Even though it had technically been two business days, they're probably a little behind due to Covid-19. After waiting quite a while, I finally got an agent who assured me that my account was still under construction and that I need to give it "one to two business days." Again, no worries, I thought. I jumped into the chat window, and being 15th place in line knew I'd be in for a wait. The service folks are working remotely and trying to get caught up. Long story short, the message said that due to Covid-19, nobody was taking phone calls, so customer service requests would be limited to the chat feature. The error message suggested that I needed to call Customer Service, so I did.
The following Tuesday or Wednesday (can't remember exactly), I was able to log into my account but unable to deposit funds. However, I had the sneaky suspicion that I'd better hold off, chat with my wife first, let the account creation cycle run its course, and fund after the weekend. At the time, it asked me to fund the account, and I considered it for a moment. I signed up for (or tried to sign up for) an account with TS on Juneteenth, so mid-June.
